Can you swim at Westboro Beach, and what is there?
Yes. Westboro Beach is an NCC-managed sandy beach on the Ottawa River with a designated supervised swim area in summer. It reopened on June 1, 2025 after a $21 million redevelopment that added a zero-carbon pavilion with a year-round restaurant and a seasonal café.
As of · Updated
The NCC lists kayak, paddleboard and canoe rentals in summer, beach volleyball, a playground, outdoor showers and riverfront lookouts. There is a paid NCC parking lot with 66 spaces across from the beach, plus an accessible drop-off area. In winter the Kichi Sibi Winter Trail leads directly to the pavilion.
Keep in mind. Swimming is supervised only in season; check the NCC page for dates and water quality.
